Tai Pei Sweet & Sour Chicken Review

Somedays, we eat like kings. Somedays, we walk along the frozen meal aisle of a walmart and say "Yeah, that looks edible." This was of the latter kind of days. A latter day... saint, one could say. Or a devil, in this case... Anyway, here it is:

So, you can tell I didn't major in photography. Hardy har har, how does the thing taste?

Not good.

Maybe that goes without saying, its a TV dinner of something that doesn't even sound like it would microwave well. That's... entirely fair. I think even for what it is, though, it's not great. First things first, I'm the realest It's just unimaginably wet and gushy. Go ahead and add a joke there, I know you want to. It really does have a bed texture though. I have to imagine separating the sauce into a separate sachet before cooking would've solved this whole issue, but alas, heating this up and breaking past the top layer of vegetables means the sauce is drenching everything here. The vegetables, since they were on the top, survived the best, with a decent crunch and acceptable frozen-vegetable-like juicy-ness. The chicken, not so much. It's not awful, but it's pretty darn soggy. Where things go from bad to worse is definitely the rice. This is not rice with any fluff, its just drenched and sad. Genuine rice gruel. If anything could save this, I guess it would be the sauce, but it's just okay. Nothing that's gonna blow your mind with a strong kick. The pineapple did help a bit, but there were only 3 pieces in the whole thing. Just sad times all around.

Oh, and why is this my first blog post in seven years? Uhhhhh SMOKE BOMB! YOU NEVER SAW ME HERE!
