UPDATE: Favorite games of 2014: Link's Awakening:
This was worth making it's own post for. I have not yet finished LA (that acronym tho), but I can easily say that it is AMAZING in every way. I recently said that I had little love for the Oracle games on GBC, and that is still true. Also, I actually got this game on the 3DS virtual a year ago. But playing it on a Gameboy sold me. This is one of the best Zelda games ever made.
Positives:
LA plays a lot like a mix of the first Legend of Zelda and ALttP (the SNES one). Some of you may know I don't like ALttP, and that remains true. However, the mix really makes it work for me. It's not quite as open world as LOZ, but it's pretty close. The simpler no scrolling action is also preferable to ALttP's more open areas. Because of this the dungeons feel really tight and well designed. I'll admit, I prefer simpler adventure games, so ALttp always felt too drawn out in the dungeons.
Also, the side scrolling type rooms come back from LOZ, and they work way better here. Stomping on goombas as link is awesome. That leads me to another positive, the enemies. LA has a TON of enemies, and a lot of them come from other games. In fact the world of LA is full of references to other Nintendo games.
Negatives: Button limitations: LA suffers from the controls of the gameboy. You can assign any item to A and B, and while this wasn't an issue in LOZ, it's a problem here. In LOZ, few puzzles required switching items multiple times. In LA, you have to switch items A LOT.
Verdict: This game is amazing. Go buy three.
P.S. - I will edit the review when I finish the game if I find anything new of note.
6/26/2015- WOW I'M LAZY... Eh. Maybe later.

Awesome game. The item switching is hard.
